Climate Change

Climate change refers to long-term alterations in temperature, precipitation, wind patterns, and other elements of the Earth’s climate system. It can result from natural processes, but the term is most commonly associated with human-induced changes resulting from the increased concentrations of greenhouse gases (such as carbon dioxide and methane) in the atmosphere due to activities like burning fossil fuels, deforestation, and industrial processes. These human activities enhance the greenhouse effect, leading to global warming and associated impacts such as rising sea levels, more frequent and severe weather events, and disruptions to ecosystems and biodiversity. Climate change poses significant risks to environmental health, agriculture, water resources, and human societies, making it a critical global issue requiring urgent collective action.
